Requirements to Become a TREVO Host
Everything you need to know before listing your car on TREVO.
Vehicle Requirements
- Car must be in roadworthy condition
- Valid road tax and insurance (minimum comprehensive)
- Maximum 10 years from first registration date (mandatory)
- Clean interior and exterior
- All features working (AC, lights, wipers, etc.)
- No vinyl wrapping (partial or full) - vehicle wrap film is not permitted
- Vehicle must not be declared Beyond Economic Repair (BER) by an insurer
- Classic cars are allowed with valid certification and prior inspection by TREVO
Documentation Needed
- IC / Identification document
- Vehicle registration card (geran)
- Valid driving license
- Bank account for payouts (maybank2u, CIMB, etc.)
Verification Process
Optional but Recommended
- Dashcam installation
- Steering lock / security device
- Regular maintenance records
Host Obligations
- Maintain a minimum 80% booking acceptance rate over 3 consecutive months
- Keep your vehicle available at least 5 days per month to maintain Shield eligibility
- Always carry a spare key - you bear all costs (towing, duplicate key, unlock) without one
- Verify every Guest's identity and driving license before handing over your vehicle
- Report all damage claims through TREVO (not directly to the Guest) within 24 hours
- Raise any complaints within 1 month of the incident
- Your vehicle may be de-listed without notice if you fail to migrate to a P2P Insurer after the grace period
Insurance Grace Period
New hosts have a 3-month grace period to obtain P2P-compliant insurance through TREVO Guard. During the grace period, TREVO's liability coverage is capped at 50% of the standard amount. You must migrate to a P2P Insurer (Allianz or Etiqa) at your next renewal or within 3 months, whichever comes first.
